I took the girls to see the christmas lights being switched on in our city centre last night. Although I’d been almost dreading it (I hate it when there’s big crowds and pushing and shoving) I actually really enjoyed it.
Gordon Banks, one of our local heroes and famous footballer turned on the lights along with Jonathan Wilkes (yes, Robbie’s best mate!). The crowd were singing christmas carols, there was artificial snow falling and the whole atmosphere was pretty festive. I almost broke my back lifting Lucy up high enough to see the stage and the activities there, but it was worth it.
The big countdown came and I ended up almost as excited as the kids! Ten…nine…eight…seven…six…five…four…three…two…one…and the city centre was light up again, some amazing decorations all over the main streets.
Yes, Christmas is on its way !!! *grins xx
